Williamson County Regional Airport Director, Doug Kimmel was elected Chairman of the Illinois Public Airports Association (IPAA) for the coming year at the group’s annual fall conference.
Organized in 1954, IPAA promotes the development, construction, and maintenance of publicly-owned airports and airport projects throughout the state. The association has emerged as an effective bipartisan political force within the state, promoting programs and proposals beneficial to public airports and aviation.
“The next several years hold tremendous opportunity for needed reforms to the way airport programs and improvements are funded in the state of Illinois,” Kimmel said. “I am pleased to represent the needs of our airport while working with airport administrators throughout Illinois to help guide that process.”
